| ProAct successfully completes over 100 major treatment projects a year for many major environmental customers all over the United States. With all the different types of environmental treatment services we provide, ProAct is the preferred choice for on-site environmental treatment. We do it right the first time!
We have become the "go to" company for environmental treatment services. Several of our customers use ProAct as the sole source, having experienced years of excellent results. Our success comes from our well-maintained fleet, our diversity of treatment knowledge, our multiple equipment locations and our project completion attitudes. Once we are awarded a project - We just get it done! Our customers love that they do not receive calls with more issues requiring more money to complete.
5,500 gallons per minute water treatment for mercury rapid response: A construction company contracted ProAct Services Corporation to provide water treatment services for the Paper Plant Construction Project. The company had planned to do direct discharge from the construction pond water to a nearby river. When the water was tested, it was found to contain mercury and other contaminants above the allowable discharge limits. The client needed to find a company to treat the pond water in a hurry to keep from shutting down the construction activities at the site.
ProAct was contacted on October 17 about the project. We mobilized equipment and personnel to treat water at 5,500 gallons per minute for hydrocarbons and heavy metals in six days! ProAct was treating water on October 23. We provided media vessels, bag filter systems, flow meters and hoses, and manufactured a custom manifold for the treatment system. ProAct Services provided four water treatment specialists working two 12-hour shifts each day, 7 days a week to operate the water treatment system. ProAct operated continuously for 66 days until the construction was complete on December 21.
During the project, ProAct had to take measures to freeze protect the water treatment system including wrapping exposed hoses with heat trace, insulting exposed valves and gauges, and insulating the exposed hoses on the ground. Frequent water recirculation was used during nights where the temperature dropped below 32 degrees F.
Construction of $4 million bioreactor water treatment plant at former coal tar plant: ProAct completed construction and prove out of a 100 gallon per minute groundwater treatment system in 2007 for a major chemical company. The primary treatment process used 3-9000 gallon bioreactors to remove organic contaminates from groundwater at a former coal tar plant. ProAct installed a treatment building, plumbing, reactor tanks and new storage tank at a former large coal tar plant. The groundwater was contaminated with moderate to high concentrations of naphthalene, phenols, PNA's and other semi-volatile organic compounds. Features of the construction included
Construction of dual phase extraction system: ProAct completed construction a 51 well dual-phase extraction system in 2006 for a major chemical company. The ground was contaminated with moderate to high concentrations of naphthalene, phenols, PNA's, and other semi-volatile organic compounds as a former roofing tar facility. Features of the construction included
Dual Phase Extraction Air System with Vapor and Water Treatment: A gasoline storage tank leak site-required remediation. ProAct won the bid to build, install and operate the system. The project consists of the following: installation of extraction wells, injection wells, underground piping, remedial system housing, dual phase extraction/soil vapor extraction/air sparging remediation equipment, oil water separator system, liquid phase carbon filtration, catalytic oxidation, electrical system and controls, HVAC system, telemetry, site restoration, system start up and operation and maintenance activities. The building was designed in our Ludington facility with the destination a consideration. The building was designed to blend in to the surrounding area. This project was a large project for ProAct, which ProAct ran from the beginning to end. We handled all aspects of the building, installation and maintaining of the system. This site is the perfect example of the detail and range of complete services we provide. The system is still on site and running today.
Multiple Dual Phase Extraction System for International Rental: An international affiliate of a U.S. consulting company contacted ProAct Services to provide mobile dual phase extraction and soil vapor extraction systems to clean up a major oil company's retail sites in Colombia, South America. ProAct used three existing rental trailers and constructed two new rental trailers to fill the order. Each mobile treatment system had been sent to Colombia by ocean vessel where it was off loaded and set up at the client's sites.
ProAct is able to monitor each system from Michigan to assist the client with operation and maintenance. We have a bilingual environmental treatment technician that makes periodic trips to service the systems.
